UK-India Economic Relation in Post-BREXIT Era

In this paper, we discuss the prospective economic and trade relation between the UK and India in the post BREXIT era. Ramifications of BREXIT on India will largely be shaped and governed by the emerging relationship between the UK and the European Union after the break-up. But whatever be the outcome of exit-negotiations, the UK must also look beyond EU markets. In such a context, India may be a preferred destination for British goods and investment, given its large and expanding market and skill manpower in specific sectors like IT, ITeS, and health services. Access to UK market in reciprocation may also create opportunities for Indian goods, particularly, for sectors like agriculture, footwear, textiles and ITeS.
